What are Ecosquares?

Ecosquare logo.JPG
Ecosquare (noun):A unique investment unit signifying best-in-class environmental lift and mitigation on equal-area squares of real land.

Creating Ecosquares

  1. When UnCLE identifies candidate parcels, we inventory and map acres with potential for E-lifts.

  2. Those acres are then split up into equal area units called Ecosquares. Ecosquare areas remain consistent across the entire UnCLE portfolio on a one-to-one basis with UnCLE E-lifted acres.

  3. Once all Ecosquares of a parcel are sold, sales fund the acquisition fees and costs associated with creating E-lift.

  4. E-lifts and sustainable agriculture practices are monetized, and proceeds are shared with Ecosquare holders.

Ecosquare Revenue

Ecosquares will derive all of their revenue from Environmental Lift-creating land uses. By this we mean that everything we do on the land, we do with the primary intention of healing the soil, the watershed, the habitat; whichever ecosystem function we can, while creating the revenue necessary to sustain and promote those practices.

These practices will include:

  • Full habitat restoration of prairie, forest, wetland and streams

  • Conservation grazing

  • Growing perennial grains

  • Creation and capture of mitigation credits (Carbon, Wetland, Nutrient, Habitat, and more)

See the Natural Climate Solutions page for additional E-lift practices
