Carbon
Our native restoration techniques heal the soil, while sequestering up to 2.5 tons of carbon per acre per year. This translates to healthier plants, healthier lands, and production of meaningful carbon solutions.
Water Quality
Our techniques also sequester tons of excess nutrients per season, keeping our waterways clean and aquatic ecosystems functioning. UnCLE is actively pursuing ways to recognize these societal benefits and funnel those returns to investors.
Streams
Stream health is essential, not only to our native species, but to us and our communities. Without healthy stream vegetation and flow, our lakes and rivers heat up and become polluted, poisoning our fish and contaminating our waters. Many UnCLE portfolios will contain thousands of feet of restored streambank, much of which may be eligible for stream restoration credit, another strong revenue source.
Habitat
Partnering with MNL, INC., UnCLE will be creating the highest quality pollinator and grassland species habitat. These benefits are continually being recognized at a city, state, and national level, and provide both intrinsic and economic incentive to support our initiatives.
Wetlands
Minnesota's wetlands play an important role sequestering carbon and nutrients, providing habitat, and preventing excess flooding. These special natural features are recognized by the National Wetland Conservation Act, which through Wetland Mitigation Banking and other avenues, provides funding to restore and maintain wetlands and marsh ecosystems. Many UnCLE properties will seek to include wetlands as a valuable piece of our portfolio.
Silvaculture
Silviculture (the sustainable management of forests for multiple uses and outcomes), is another promising option for UnCLE lands. The opportunity to create agricultural commodities while regenerating soils and sequestering carbon is our goal, and many may benefit from our silviculture farms.
